Nursing Assistant Training Program <br /> LGL College does not hold itself Iiable for any injury or infection to the mother and the <br /> unborn child acquired by the student before, during and after the class and clinical rotation. <br /> LGL College shall not compensate the student for non-productivity due to these types of <br /> illness or injury. The student is <br /> advis d to exercise safety and infection control protocols at all times. <br /> LGL College does not hold itself liable for any injury or infection acquired by the st ident <br /> befor , during and after the class and clinical rotation. LGL College shall not compe sate <br /> the student for non-productivity due to these types of illness or injury. Likewise, the <br /> studer t shall shoulder expenses related to treatment of these types of illness or injur . <br /> For th protection of students, clients, clinical personnel, and faculty, the following <br /> policies must be followed: <br /> 1. Injury in the classroom or clinical setting must be reported immediately to <br /> the Nursing Instructor to facilitate completion of medical care and necessary <br /> forms. <br /> 2. In the event of illness or injury greater than one week duration, the student ML A <br /> provide written medical clearance before returning to lecture, skills tab or <br /> clinical. <br /> 3. A student with a potentially communicable illness will be required to furnish <br /> written medical clearance before returning to lecture, skills lab or clinical. <br /> 4. A student with a cast, crutch, cane, splint, sling or other device that impairs <br /> mobility or motion will not be allowed in the clinical area. Written medical <br /> clearance will be required before returning to the clinical area. <br /> A stu ent who is involved in an accident or unusual occurrence which may cause ac ual <br /> or pot ntial harm must be reported to their clinical faculty immediately. Proper <br /> docun entation of the incident must be made within 24 hours. The incident report must be <br /> submi ted to the program director. <br /> Proto ol: <br /> 1. The student reports any accident or unusual occurrence to the appropriate clin cal <br /> faculty, preceptor, or designated supervisor. <br /> 2. The student receives immediate first aid or medical attention at the site as nee ed. <br /> 3. The clinical faculty, preceptor, or designated supervisor collects the informati n <br /> related to the accident or occurrence and assists the student in completing the <br /> incident report within 24 hours. <br /> 4. The student-who seeks turther treatment will o so at the provider/agency o t eir <br /> choice.
