The Program Director shall review the case and impose <br /> sanctions as appropriate. <br /> Safety and Unusual Occurrences <br /> Impaived Student_ <br /> � wn m rk «xua,v+rv�e,mto+..wn.��n.nwwN. <br /> An inipffired student is one who is perceived as threat to safety and welfare of client , <br /> their families, the health care team, other students, and the school personnel. Impairment <br /> may Be physical, psychological, or both. <br /> Rega dless of the cause, an impaired student is not allowed in class or clinical setting. If <br /> impairment is observed while the student is in class or clinical setting, the instructor must <br /> advise the impaired student to leave the premises. The instructor may call police <br /> assist nce if the impaired student shows aggressive behavior. The instructor must fill up <br /> the in ident report and notify the program director within 24 hours. <br /> Atten ante policy shall apply for any missed theory and/or clinical hours. Dismissal <br /> policy shall apply for aggressive behaviors and damage to property. LGL College, its <br /> administration, instructors, and staff are not accountable for injuries sustained y an <br /> impaired student. <br /> The s udent may be asked to furnish the school with medical clearance if allowed to return <br /> to cla s or clinical setting. Random urine and/or blood tests may be required of any tudent <br /> at an time to ensure wellness. <br /> Pregnancy <br /> A stud nt who is pregnant must: <br /> 1. Provide the school with an estimated date of delivery calculated by her healtf care <br /> provider. <br /> 2. Submit a letter from her health care provider outlining the student's ability to <br /> participate in clinical activities as well as a timeline for these activities. <br /> 3. Comply with the policies and procedures of the clinical agency to which she is <br /> assigned. <br /> 4. Observe usual pregnancy precautions while in the clinical area according to a gency <br /> policy. <br /> 5. Report any unusual signs and symptoms while in class or clinical. <br /> Clinical assignment may be modified. Work modification is limited to lifting weights The <br /> student is still expected to perform other functions of the VN student and submit clini al <br /> assignments in a timely manner. If the student cannot perform other assignments eve <br /> after pl ced on a modified dut she ma be recommended for a leave of absence. <br /> Pregnancy is not an excuse for absences.
