(9) SCOPE OF WORK <br />• Ensure that cabinet is free from exterior obstructions (maintain 36" access) <br />• Inspect cabinet glazing for damage <br />Annual Inspection and Testing of Fire Protection Systems <br />Annual inspection and testing to include all Quarterly requirements. <br />1. Wet Sprinkler Systems and Standpipes <br />2. Water Flow Alarm Devices <br />• Verify water flow devices are free of physical damage <br />• Testing shall be accomplished by opening the inspector's test valve <br />• Alarms must report to the fire panel within 90 seconds of flow <br />• Test in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions <br />• Note: Water flow devices include Water Motor Gongs, Pressure Switch, and <br />Vane type <br />3. Main Drain at Each Riser <br />• Test main drain <br />• Record initial static pressure <br />• Record residual pressure <br />• Record restored static pressure <br />4. Control Valve — Position and Operation <br />• Each valve shall be operated through its full range of motion <br />• Test that all tamper switches must report to the fire panel <br />• Verify that the signal does not restore at any valve position except the open <br />position <br />• PIVs shall be opened until spring or torsion is felt on the rod, indicating that <br />the rod has not become detached from the valve <br />• PIVs and OS&Ys shall be backed one -quarter turn from the fully open <br />position to prevent jamming <br />5. Sprinklers <br />• Inspect all exposed sprinklers for paint, corrosion, and leaking <br />• Inspect all sprinklers for flow obstructions (i.e. light fixtures, exit signs, <br />storage — 18" from ceiling) <br />• Inspect all sprinklers for the proper spacing and location per NFPA 13 <br />6. Hangers and Seismic Braces <br />• Inspect from floor level <br />• Inspect for looseness and damage <br />• Concealed hangers and braces do not need to be checked <br />City of Santa Ana IFB No. 25-047 Page 17 of 34 <br />
