(9) SCOPE OF WORK <br />• Verify all valves to gauge are in open position <br />• Record System and supply pressure <br />3. Hydraulic Nameplate <br />• Verify hydraulic nameplate is legible and securely attached to sprinkler riser <br />4. Risers, Pipe, and Fittings <br />• Inspect that piping and fittings are not damaged, leaking, or corroded <br />• Verify that riser is free from exterior obstructions (maintain 36" access) <br />• Inspect that all bracing is secured and not damaged <br />5. Spare Sprinklers <br />• Verify that a stock of extra sprinkler heads and head wrench (specific to the <br />building) in spare head boxes are present <br />• 300 heads = 6 spare heads <br />• 300 to 1000 = 12 spare heads <br />• 1000+ = 24 spare heads <br />6. Fire Department Connections <br />• Inspect that breakaway caps are in place, not broken or missing <br />• Inspect that couplings and threads are not damaged and rotate smoothly <br />• Inspect that gaskets are not missing or deteriorated <br />• Inspect that clapper valves moves freely and are not leaking <br />• Inspect for visible or exterior obstructions (maintain 36" access) <br />• Ensure that FDC connection is clearly identified. If FDC serves multiple <br />buildings, correctly identify to include all buildings addresses <br />7. Pressure Reducing Valves <br />• Verify valve is in open position <br />• Inspect for leaks <br />• Check condition of valves and hand wheels <br />8. Outlet Valves, Hose Connections <br />• Verify that outlet caps are in place <br />• Inspect hose connection threads for damage and rotate smoothly <br />• Verify that valve hand wheel is secure and not missing <br />• Verify hose connection is free from exterior obstructions (maintain 36" <br />access) <br />• Inspect for leaks <br />9. Outlet Valve Cabinet and Hose Storage Device <br />• Verify that cabinet door opens freely <br />• Verify that cabinet is correctly identified, label the cabinet if a fire extinguisher <br />is inside <br />City of Santa Ana IFB No. 25-047 Page 16 of 34 <br />
