FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />Resolution No. 2024-XX <br />Page 1 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XX <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 501 WEST 19TH STREET <br />(HISTORIC EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICATION NO. <br />2024-01) <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines and declares as follows: <br /> <br />A. Matthew and Nicole Kantelis (“Applicants”) are requesting approval of <br />Historic Exterior Modification Application No. 2024-01 to allow exterior <br />modifications to the property at 501 West 19th Street, historically known as <br />the Lacy-Murray House. <br />B. The legal owners of the property are Matthew J. Kantelis and Nicole S. <br />Kantelis, as Co-Trustees of the Kantelis Family Trust established <br />03/26/2021. <br />C. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />D. The Lacy-Murray House is a contributor to the National Register-listed <br />Floral Park Historic District and is individually listed as No. 582 on the Santa <br />Ana Register of Historical Properties and categorized as “Key” in 2014. <br />A. The Lacy-Murray House was originally built in 1923 and is architecturally <br />significant as a Mission/Spanish Colonial Revival style residence. <br />Character-defining exterior features of the Lacy-Murray House that should <br />be preserved include, but may not be limited to, exterior materials including <br />stucco, stucco texture, and clay roof tiles capping the parapet, original <br />windows and original front entry door, side entry gate, massing, and <br />articulation. <br />B. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 30-6, no exterior physical <br />modifications, other than those identified by the Historic Resources <br />Commission for administrative approval by city staff, shall be permitted with <br />respect to a historic structure until the Historic Resources Commission <br />approves such request at a duly noticed public hearing and issues a <br />certificate of appropriateness. The Historic Resources Commission shall <br />issue the certificate of appropriateness upon finding that the proposed <br />modification(s) does not substantially change the character and integrity of <br />the historic property. <br />    <br />Historic Resources Commission 80 5/8/2024 <br />
