FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />Resolution No. 2024-XX <br />Page 1 of 10 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2024-XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 222 SOUTH CYPRESS AVENUE <br />FOR HISTORIC EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2024-02 (APN: 404-091-05) <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A.Lucas Gage (property owner and applicant) is requesting approval of <br />Historic Exterior Modification Application No. 2024-02 to allow exterior <br />modifications to the property at 222 South Cypress Avenue, historically <br />known as the Dinsmore House. <br />B.The legal owners of the property are Lucas James Gage, Jeffrey A. Gage, <br />and Donna L. Gage. <br />C.The Dinsmore House is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historic <br />Properties (Register) in the Category Key. <br />D.The Dinsmore House was originally built circa 1890, in the Queen Anne and <br />Greek Revival styles. It is a two-story, single-family residence, located on a <br />moderately sized parcel, accompanied by a modest one-story duplex <br />building, which does not contribute to the Dinsmore House’s historical <br />significance. Character-defining features of the Dinsmore House that <br />should be preserved include, but may not be limited to: shiplap wood <br />exterior wall cladding; roof configuration; massing; original windows and <br />doors where extant; and architectural details such as porch roof trim and <br />window surrounds. <br />E.Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 30-6, no exterior physical <br />modifications, other than those identified by the Historic Resources <br />Commission for administrative approval by city staff, shall be permitted with <br />respect to a historic structure until the Historic Resources Commission <br />approves such request at a duly noticed public hearing and issues a <br />certificate of appropriateness. The Historic Resources Commission shall <br />issue the certificate of appropriateness upon finding that the proposed <br />modification(s) does not substantially change the character and integrity of <br />the historic property. <br />F.The applicant proposes to restore sixteen (16) existing vinyl windows and <br />replace three (3) existing vinyl windows with wood-sash windows of double- <br />  <br />    <br />
