Brookhurst Oevelcpment & Advirmonj Corp <br /> Specialists m public prlvate FacllitySolutions S/fire 1.qz <br /> a Supporting documentation to facilitate meaningful communications <br /> between OCFA and the City of Santa Ana. <br /> It is our understanding that OCFA may request that BDC be including in one or <br /> some of the meetings between OCFA and the city to discuss the updated report. <br /> BDC will be available to attend any meetings between OCFA and the city staff to <br /> discuss the findings and recommendations of the report as requested by OCFA. <br /> SEC. 3: SCOPE OF UPDATED FCA REPORT <br /> Consistent with the 2022 FCA report, OCFA has directed that the proposed <br /> evaluation of existing conditions is to be based solely upon observable <br /> conditions. No destructive or invasive testing, testing requiring special <br /> instrumentation or testing of systems will be conducted. Also, the scope is to <br /> exclude the review of construction or other building documents that might be <br /> maintained in files maintained by either OCFA or the city. <br /> Included as Part of Scope of Work <br /> 1) Field Inspections <br /> Working in concert with the Division 6 Chief and OCFA personnel, BDC will <br /> conduct field inspections of each of the 10 Santa Ana stations. BDC's inspections <br /> for each station will include assessment through visual observations of the <br /> following: <br /> • Interiors and finishes. Inspection of all accessible interior spaces to <br /> observe conditions of drywall, partitions, cabinetry, doors, flooring and <br /> ceilings. This will include assessing the condition of paint, carpeting, <br /> tiling and other finishes. <br /> • Structural Conditions. The FCA update will provide a more extensive <br /> inspection and analysis of the structural conditions of each station than <br /> the 2022 FCA report. Because of the level of technical expertise <br /> required, OCFA has indicated it would contract separately with an <br /> OCFA-approved licensed structural engineer to provide this review, and <br /> the engineer's report will be presented as an addendum to BDC's FCA <br /> update report. Per OCFA instruction, BDC has been in communications <br /> with OCFA's structural engineer, Mr. Bob Scheibel of RSSE, Inc. to <br /> discuss the project's scope and level of assessment required. <br /> Also per OCFA instruction, we have indicated to Mr. Scheibel that his <br /> technical review will focus only on a visual, non-invasive assessment of <br /> 3 <br />
