<br /> <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services <br />Commission 4 5/22/2025 <br /> <br /> <br />Commissioner Jogwe asked about the All-Star Girls Basketball game and if there <br />is any opportunity for adding any niche sports like lacrosse. Deputy Director <br />Pagano responded that they hope to add some new sports with the aquatics <br />center opening and would like to see more offerings as well. <br /> <br />Commissioner Woo commented that she enjoyed the Arbor and Earth day events <br />and asked about event tabling applications for the upcoming events. Deputy <br />Director Pagano responded yes now is the time to submit those. <br /> <br />Commissioner Diaz commented that she was happy to see the new route for the <br />10k and 5k fun run and finishing inside the stadium. <br /> <br />Chair Herrera commented about the Cultura magazine photos and asked about <br />the main stage location for the Fiestas Patrias event. Deputy Director Pagano <br />responded that they are working on a new area for the main stage in downtown <br />Santa Ana. Chair Herrera also mentioned info about cooling centers. <br /> <br />4. Public Works Agency Park Services Staff Report. <br /> <br />MINUTES: Park Services Superintendent Jorge Acevedo and Public Works <br />Deputy Director Michael Ortiz presented the Public Works Agency Park Services <br />Staff Report to the Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Woo commented about El Salvador Park restrooms, asked if there <br />could be signage to try and keep them clean. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jogwe asked about the Lillie King Park. Superintendent Acevedo <br />responded that it is low to the ground table so they are working on a solution. <br /> <br />Commissioner Diaz asked about signage for MySantaAna App. Executive <br />Director Scott and Deputy Director Ortiz responded and agreed it would be great <br />to add it in to more spots. Commissioner Diaz also commented about the <br />Cypress Firehouse, asked meeting for input on the Walnut Street project. Deputy <br />Director Ortiz voiced that they will be scheduling something soon. <br /> <br />Vice Chair Zacarias Torres asked about the Bristol Tolliver water treatment, <br />hydration station’s, and more construction signage. Deputy Director Ortiz and <br />Superintendent Acevedo responded with more information about the water <br />treatment, that the hydration stations will be in every ward, and that they hope to <br />continue to improve construction signage for residents. <br /> <br />Chair Herrera asked about the Griset Park event on May 27th. Executive Director <br />Scott responded that it is a Community Workshop for future planning of the park. <br /> <br /> <br />City Council 6 – 50 9/16/2025
