A regular vacation period is <br /> defined as the maximum amount of vacation earned in a calendar year <br /> as provided in Subsection A, supra. <br /> 3 . No employee shall have a right to accumulate or <br /> split his or her vacation, but the same may be allowed or required <br /> by the Chief of Police . <br /> Section 3 . Longevity Vacation. <br /> A. A period of earlier service does not apply toward <br /> longevity vacation accumulation when an employee has had a break in <br /> continuous service, unless the break in service is concluded by <br /> reappointment, as provided in Section 9-114 of the Civil Service <br /> Rules and Regulations, or by reemployment from layoff within two <br /> (2) years . <br /> D.
