of the lump sum payment that the employee would have received for <br /> unused sick leave benefits had this option not been elected. <br /> 3 . Effective June 30, 1993 , after 15 years of <br /> cumulative full time service with the City (except for disability <br /> retirement or disciplinary termination) , each qualified employee <br /> shall be entitled to receive credit for 2/3 of their total sick <br /> leave benefits calculated at their current pay rate; this credit <br /> shall be applied only toward monthly health insurance premiums, <br /> beginning on the effective date of termination. The City' s <br /> obligation to pay such premiums to the Association on behalf of the <br /> employee shall be terminated when the total credit as described <br /> above has been exhausted. <br /> Section 2 . Bereavement Leave . An employee shall be granted up <br /> to three (3) days (24 hours) leave without loss of pay in case of <br /> death of a member of the employee' s immediate family. Such leave is <br /> designated as bereavement leave . " Immediate family" as used in this <br /> section is limited to : <br /> A. Any relative by blood or marriage who is a member of <br /> the employee' s household; <br /> B. A parent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, brother, <br /> sister, grandparent or grandchild of the employee, regardless of <br /> residence; <br /> C. Any other relative of the employee by blood or <br /> marriage where it can be established by the employee that as a <br /> result of such relative' s death, the employee' s presence is <br /> required. <br /> Section 3 . Military Leave . <br /> A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements. An employee shall <br /> be granted military leave if he or she furnishes the Chief <br /> Personnel Officer satisfactory proof of his or her orders to report <br /> for duty. Upon return and upon showing proof of actual service _ <br /> pursuant to such orders, he or she will be reinstated as provided <br /> in Section 9-116 of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the <br /> City of Santa Ana. <br /> B . Temporary. Members of the reserve forces of the United <br /> States, or the National Guard, granted temporary leave when ordered <br /> to duty, in accordance with the Military and Veterans Code, will be <br /> granted leave with pay not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days in <br /> each calendar year after one year' s service with the City upon <br /> presenting satisfactory proof of orders to and from such temporary <br /> active duties. <br /> Section 4 . Jury and Witness Leave . When an on-duty employee is <br /> called to serve as a juror or a non-party witness in any court <br /> 28 <br />
