duties of an Assistant Team Leader (ATL) (Corporal) will be paid at <br /> a rate set five (5) salary rate ranges (2 . 5%) above his or her then <br /> current base monthly salary step. <br /> The City and the Association agree to meet and confer <br /> regarding the Corporal assignment immediately after the contract is <br /> approved by the City. <br /> E . The Police Chief at his/her discretion and based on <br /> the department' s need may assign two sworn officers in <br /> Investigation to standby status for Saturday and Sunday or <br /> holidays . Officers thus assigned will be compensated at the rate <br /> of two (2) hours of straight time per day of standby duty. <br /> Section 2 . Shift Differential , Non-Sworn Personnel . Each <br /> employee in the classes of Animal Control Officer I, Animal Control <br /> Officer II, Forensic Specialist I , Forensic Specialist II , Police <br /> Communications Supervisor, Police Property & Evidence Specialist, <br /> Police Service Officer, and Police Services Dispatcher, who is <br /> continuously and regularly assigned to a schedule of work which <br /> requires that he or she actually work a minimum of four and one- <br /> half (4 1/2) hours between the hours of 5 : 00 P.M. and 7 : 00 A.M. <br /> will be paid a shift differential at a rate set ten (10) salary <br /> rate ranges (5 . 0%) above his or her then current base monthly <br /> salary step . <br /> Section 3 . Bilingual Pay. Qualified employees who meet the <br /> following criteria will be paid a monthly pay differential, above <br /> his or her base monthly salary step, as follows : <br /> A. Assignment by the Chief of Police or his designee to <br /> a position requiring bilingual capability in both English and one <br /> of the following languages : Spanish, Samoan, Vietnamese, Hmong or <br /> other language designated by the City Manager; and <br /> B. Certified by the Chief Personnel Officer as having <br /> satisfactorily demonstrated the required level of fluency in both <br /> languages . <br /> C. Street Level Proficiency in Spanish. A Police <br /> Officer or Police Sergeant who successfully meets the "Street Level <br /> Proficiency" requirements set out in the departmental Spanish <br /> training program shall be paid a bilingual pay differential in an <br /> amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying the base salary <br /> rate being paid to an employee in the rank of Police Officer at <br /> Step "E" by two and one-half percent (2 . 5%) (five [5] salary rate <br /> ranges) . <br /> 1 . Employees receiving "Street Level Proficiency" <br /> incentive pay will be required, as a condition of <br /> continued eligibility to receive such incentive <br /> pay, to successfully complete an eight (8) hour <br /> 8 <br />
