Section 11. Reallocation of Salary Rate Ranges. Any officer or <br /> employee who is employed in a classification which is reallocated to a <br /> different salary rate range from that previously assigned shall be <br /> retained in the same salary step in the new salary rate range as he or <br /> she had previously held in the prior rate range and shall retain credit <br /> for length of service in such step towards advancement to the next higher <br /> step. <br /> ARTICLE V - ASSIGNMENT AND OTHER SPECIAL PAY ADDITIVES <br /> Section 1. Assignment Pay Differentials. <br /> A. An incumbent in the class of Police Services Dispatcher who <br /> is continuously and regularly assigned to and actually performing in a <br /> lead supervisory and trainer capacity over an assigned shift of Police <br /> Services Dispatchers will be paid at a rate set ten (10) salary rate <br /> ranges (5%) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br /> B. An incumbent in the class of Police Officer who is <br /> continuously and regularly assigned to and actually performing duties of <br /> an Assistant Team Leader (ATL) will be paid at a rate set five (5) salary <br /> rate ranges (2.5%) above his or her then current base monthly salary step. <br /> Section 2. Shift Differential, Non-Sworn Personnel. An employee in <br /> the class of Police Services Dispatcher who is continuously and regularly <br /> assigned to a schedule of work which requires that he or she actually <br /> work a minimum of four and one-half (4 1/2) hours between the hours of <br /> 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 A.M. will be paid a shift differential at a rate set <br /> ten (10) salary rate ranges (5.0%) above his or her then current base <br /> monthly salary step. <br /> Section 3. Bilingual Pay. Qualified employees who meet the <br /> following criteria will be paid a monthly pay differential, above his or <br /> her base monthly salary step, as follows: <br /> A. Assignment by the Chief of Police or his designee to a <br /> position requiring bilingual capability in both English and one of the <br /> following languages: Spanish, Samoan, Vietnamese or other language <br /> designated by the City Manager; and <br /> B. Certified by the Chief Personnel Officer as having <br /> satisfactorily demonstrated conversational fluency in both languages. <br /> C. Effective January 1, 1991, all employees in the <br /> classification of Police Officer shall be paid a bilingual pay <br /> differential in an amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying <br /> the base salary rate then being paid to an employee in the rank of Police <br /> Officer Step "E" by five percent (5.0%) (ten (10) salary rate ranges) . <br /> This differential shall be paid only to those employees in the following <br /> -6 - <br />
