qualified employee shall be entitled to <br /> receive credit for 2/3 of their total sick <br /> leave benefits calculated at their current pay <br /> rate; this credit shall be applied only toward <br /> monthly health insurance premiums, beginning <br /> on the effective date of termination. The <br /> City' s obligation to pay such premiums to the <br /> Association on behalf of the employee shall be <br /> terminated when the total credit as described <br /> above has been exhausted. <br /> 11 . 2 Bereavement Leave . An employee shall be granted up to <br /> three (3) days leave without loss of pay in case of death <br /> of a member of the employee' s immediate family, For <br /> purposes of this Section only, a "day" shall be defined <br /> as the number of hours of work that an employee is <br /> required to work according to his/her specific workday <br /> schedule . Such leave is designated as bereavement leave . <br /> " Immediate family" as used in this section is limited to: <br /> A. Any relative by blood or marriage who is a member <br /> of the employee' s household; <br /> B . A parent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, brother, <br /> sister, grandparent or grandchild of the employee, <br /> regardless of residence; <br /> C. Any other relative of the employee by blood or <br /> marriage where it can be established by the <br /> employee that as a result of such relative' s death, <br /> the employee' s presence is required. <br /> 11 . 3 Military Leave . <br /> A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements . An employee <br /> shall be granted military leave if he or she <br /> furnishes the Chief Personnel Officer satisfactory <br /> proof of his or her orders to report for duty. Upon <br /> return and upon showing proof of actual service <br /> pursuant to such orders, he or she will be <br /> reinstated as provided in Section 9-143 of the <br /> Santa Ana Municipal Code . <br /> B . Temporary. Members of the reserve forces of the <br /> United States, or the National Guard, granted <br /> temporary leave when ordered to duty, in accordance <br /> with the Military and Veterans Code and Section 9- <br /> 144 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code, will be <br /> granted leave with pay not to exceed thirty (30) <br /> calendar days in each calendar year after one <br /> year' s service with the City upon presenting <br /> satisfactory proof of orders to and from such <br /> 40 <br />
