(5) consecutive days without the ' employee' s <br /> consent . It is the intent of the parties that each <br /> employee so affected, shall receive two (2) <br /> consecutive days off whenever practical . <br /> For purposes of this Subsection, a calendar week <br /> begins at 0001 hours on Sunday and ends at 2400 <br /> hours on the following Saturday. <br /> 3 . 4 Definitions of Terms For Employees Assigned To 3/12 <br /> 4/12 Work Schedule . <br /> A. Workday. A workday for employees assigned to 3/12 <br /> - 4/12 Work Schedule will consist of 11 hours and <br /> 30 minutes of work with 30 additional minutes for <br /> meals (Code 7 time) . <br /> B . Work Period. For those employees working 11 hours <br /> and 30 minutes a day, the "work period" will <br /> consist of two consecutive weeks with 3 shifts of <br /> 11 hours and 30 minutes in one week and 4 shifts of <br /> 11 hours and 30 minutes in the second week. The <br /> total hours for these two consecutive weeks shall <br /> be considered equalling eighty (80) hours and <br /> thirty (30) minutes . <br /> However, the one-half hour worked beyond 80 hours <br /> of work in a two week period shall be added to the <br /> employee' s vacation time . If during the two week <br /> work period, an employee is on leave without pay <br /> he/she will not be eligible for one-half hour (1/2) <br /> of vacation accrual . The employee, however, will <br /> be given early release to make up for time worked <br /> beyond 80 hours . <br /> C . Work Schedule During Schedule Changes . The City <br /> agrees to continue the following policy when <br /> scheduling days off during shift, assignment or <br /> other schedule changes : except in cases of <br /> emergency or other situations requiring days off, <br /> the City may schedule employees impacted by a <br /> shift, work assignments or other schedule changes, <br /> to no more than four (4) regular and normal <br /> workdays, as defined in subsection "A" above, <br /> during any calendar week; however, and except in <br /> cases of emergency, no employee shall be scheduled <br /> to work more than four (4) consecutive days without <br /> the employee' s consent . It is the intent of the <br /> parties that each employee so affected, shall <br /> receive three (3) consecutive days off whenever <br /> practical . <br /> 5 <br />
