CLEAN UP THE SPILL <br />All spills must be cleaned up. Affected areas shall be washed down and the wash water <br />vacuumed and disposed of into the sewer and or hauled off to an appropriate waste facility <br />(i.e.: Orange County Sanitation District, OCSD). For large spills requiring additional <br />equipment and manpower, the contract pumping company listed below can provide these <br />services. Wet berm material, sandbags, etc. must be removed and disposed of properly. <br />Call the appropriate Supervisor for direction and support. <br />The on -call Supervisor/Crew Leader will direct any special requirements for spill cleanup, <br />such as disinfection. Do not apply disinfectant until directed to do so by the on -call <br />Supervisor/Crew Leader. <br />All water used to disinfect shall be vacuumed and disposed of into the sewer and or <br />hauled off to an appropriate waste facility. (i.e., Orange County Sanitation District, <br />OCSD). <br />EMERGENCY CLEAN UP CONTRACTORS <br />The following contractor may be contacted to provide assistance with spill containment <br />and cleanup: <br />o Houston Harris, PCS at (909) 721-1756 <br />The contractor will provide vacuum trucks and other equipment as needed in emergency <br />situations. They can also assist with clean up and disinfection of contaminated and <br />affected spill areas. They are available for emergencies and on special situations at any <br />time. Contact the on -call supervisor and or crew leader for assistance prior to calling the <br />emergency contractors. <br />Orange County Environmental Management Agency (OCEMA) <br />The OCEMA is divided into a public works section and a water pollution section. Both <br />sections provide access to OCEMA flood and road facilities, but each section has its own <br />particular responsibilities. <br />The Public Works section of OCEMA provides equipment and crews as requested for <br />emergency containment of water and waste. This section also provides detailed <br />information regarding OCEMA flood control and road facilities. <br />The OCEMA Water Pollution section provides information regarding flood control and <br />storm drain systems, and advice regarding characteristics of pollutants, containment <br />measures and cleanup procedures. This section also provides some chemical analysis <br />capabilities for water and waste, directs and monitors cleanup activities where OCEMA <br />jurisdiction and facilities are involved, and provides access to rainfall and other weather <br />data from the ALERT Flood Warning Network. <br />REVISION 2.0 (4/23) 16 <br />
