<br />EXHIBIT A <br />SCOPE OF SERVICES <br />Consultant shall perform services as set forth below. <br />INTRODUCTION, DESCRIPTION, AND SCOPE OF <br />WORK INTRODUCTION <br />The City of Santa Ana is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) for Engineering Services. The City of <br />Santa Ana (City) continues to see the number of cyclists and pedestrians injured or killed in traffic <br />collisions remain unacceptably high for several years. The Santa Ana City Council and community are <br />now calling for a change to the City’s mobility priorities. The statistics tell the story: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Most densely populated City in Orange County. <br />48% of Residents are under the age of 30 <br />15% of Residents use public transit <br />Safe all-around Santa Ana mobility must be better balanced with regional mobility priorities. The response <br />must be customized to address Santa Ana’s specific needs and characteristics. <br />DESCRIPTION <br />The City is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Santa Ana Vision Zero Plan Update that <br />involves evaluating citywide traffic safety. The Santa Ana Vision Zero Plan Update SHALL and will <br />analyze traffic collisions, identify contributing factors/patterns, recommend improvements, develop <br />concept plans/drawings, cost estimates, and prioritization for improvements. The City will enter into an <br />agreement with the firm(s). <br />A. IMPLEMENTATION <br />I.City staff shall have the right to modify, reduce, or delete the services as needed by <br />City. <br />II.The term of the contract shall be for an initial 1 year which shall commence on the date <br />that City Council approves the award or the date that all required bonds and insurance <br />have been approved by the City Attorney, whichever occurs last. <br />City shall retain an option to renew on the same terms and conditions as set forth <br />herein for up to one (1) additional one-year term, for a total maximum of 2 years. <br />III. <br />B. SCOPE OF WORK <br />The Consultant shall update the existing Santa Ana Vision Zero Plan by incorporating five (5) <br />new additional priority corridor/street segments (1-2 miles long), incorporate two new non- <br />priority corridor/street segments (1-2 miles long) into the framework, and provide additional <br />community outreach. This expansion aims to enhance traffic safety measures, reduce traffic- <br />related fatalities and severe injuries, and promote a more pedestrian and cyclist-friendly urban <br />environment in more areas of the City of Santa Ana.
