_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA (CASA) MOU: JULY 1, 2025 THROUGH JUNE 30, 2028 <br />Page 27 <br />13139922.1 SA370-001 <br />ARTICLE IX <br />9.0 HOLIDAYS <br /> Legal holidays observed by full-time employees are as follows: <br />o January 1 - New Year’s Day. <br />o Third (3rd) Monday in January - Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday. <br />o Third (3rd) Monday in February - President’s Day. <br />o March 31 – Cesar Chavez Day <br />o Last Monday in May - Memorial Day. <br />o July 4 - Independence Day. <br />o First (1st) Monday in September - Labor Day. <br />o November 11 - Veterans’ Day. <br />o Fourth (4th) Thursday in November - Thanksgiving Day. <br />o The Friday immediately following Thanksgiving Day. <br />o Last working day before Christmas Day, unless Christmas Day falls on Thursday, <br />in which instance, the day following Christmas Day shall be observed in lieu <br />thereof. <br />o December 25 - Christmas Day. <br />o Two (2) Floating Holidays - Any workday selected by the employee with prior <br />permission of the employee's supervisor. <br />o Every day proclaimed by the Mayor of the City as a holiday for City employees. <br />o Any holiday which falls on a Sunday shall be observed on the following Monday. <br />o Any holiday which falls on a Saturday shall be observed on the Friday preceding <br />the holiday. <br /> Holidays - Shift Personnel and Employees on Alternate Work Schedules. <br />A. Full-time employees on a 5/40 schedule whose regularly scheduled days off are <br />other than Saturday and Sunday shall be entitled to receive fourteen (14) eight (8) <br />hour working days off during the year in lieu of the holiday benefits specified in <br />9.1 <br />9.2
