ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT ADDENDUM
Bristol Street and Memory Lane Intersection Improvements - Project No. 17-E883
■ Subsection C,Erosion lmpacts, and
■ Subsection F, Water Quality.
Would the project:
u} Expose people or sinwtures to potential substantial adverse effects, including the risk of loss injurj;
or death involving:
ij Rupture of a known earthquake fault; as delineated on the most recentAlquist-Priolo Earthquake
Fault Zoning Map issued by the State Geologistfor the area or based on other substantial evidence
of a. known fault? Refer to Division of Mines and Geology 4eeial Publication 42.
The City of Santa Ana is not included in the Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zoning Map1°. The Project site is not
underlain by an active fault. The closest faults are the El Modeno Fault, approximately eight miles to the northeast
and the Newport Inglewood Fault approximately 15 miles to the southwest. The proposed Project would not result
in greater impacts than previously analyzed in the 1990 FEISIEIR.
Certified 1990 FEISIEIR Mitigation Measures: No 1990 FEISXIR mitigation measures are applicable.
Mitigation Measures: No additional mitigation measures are required.
R) Mrong seismic ground shakng?
The El Modeno fault is the closest fault to the Project site and is the most likely source of ground shaking imp acts i
The Project proposes intersection improvements and would not expose people or structures to adverse ground
shaking impact The proposed Project would not result in greater impacts than previously analyzed in the 1990
FEISIEIR.
Certified 1990 FEISIEIR Mitigation Measures: No 1990 FEIS/EIR mitigation measures are applicable.
Mitigation Measures: No additional mitigation measures are required.
iv Seisms -re late dgroundfaiksre, including liquefaction?
According to the City's General Plan, the Project site is identified as having high -medium liquefaction potential.
However, the Project does not propose any new habitable structures. Implementation of 1990 FEISIEIR Mitigation
Measure B-2,. to replace surface Ievel structures with structures that have extensive subsurface footings (such as
traffic signals) that reach stable material would reduce any structural impacts from ground failure to less than
significant. The proposed Project would not result in greater impacts than previously analyzed in the 1990
FE[SIE[R.
Certified 1990 FEISIEIR Mitigation Measures-
B-2 Consideration will be given to installing and replacing surface level structures such as street lights,
traffic signals and utility poles, with structures that have extensive subsurface footings that reach stable
material.
Mitigation Measures: No additional mitigation measures are required.
iv} Landslides?
The proposed Project site is generally flat and does not contain any significant slopes. The proposed Project would
not result in greater impacts than previously analyzed in the 1990 FEISO R.
1° City of Santa Ana, City of Santa Aria General flan, adopted September 1982, as amended.
ii California Geological Survey, Fault Activity Map of California; http://maps.croservafon.ca.gov/cgs/fanV
App/index.html, acc ess ed August 3, 2017.
Final I December 2017 3-10 Environmental Consequences
