Stay Updated <br />bit.ly/MovingForwardOnFirst <br />FIRST STREET MULTIMODAL BOULEVARD STUDY <br />East Side Concept <br />â—‹Extra-wide sidewalks with separated bikeways <br />create dedicated, predictable zones that increase <br />separation form roadway traffic, enhancing safety <br />by providing more comfortable ADA access for <br />walking, and rolling on both sides of First Street. <br />â—‹Additional safety improvements (not pictured) <br />include enhanced pedestrian crossings with <br />tighter curb radii, improved crosswalk visibility, <br />and new signalized crossings for safer, more <br />consistent crossing opportunities. Transit <br />signal priority will be integrated into signalized <br />intersections to help improve bus operations and <br />on-time performance. <br />Caltrans Conceptual Plan developed for their Freeway Ramp Active Mobility Study recommends <br />reducing First Street to four lanes east of Zoo Lane and ramp improvements at I-5 SB Ramps <br />Level of Service: Opening Year
