The traffic signal system is comprised of <br />326 traffic signals, 137 Audible Pedestrian Signals, 42 Flashing Beacons, 24 Speed <br />Feedback Signs, 140 video detection systems, 175 emergency vehicle preemption <br />systems, 45 fiber optic network hubs, and a Traffic Management Center (TMC) located <br />at City Hall. Traffic signal control devices are used to operate, manage, and monitor traffic <br />signals and pedestrian safety systems throughout the City. These devices are essential <br />to providing safe and efficient accessibility for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists <br />traveling on City streets and sidewalks. These traffic signal systems require periodic <br />replacement and enhancement to preserve an efficient and safe operating transportation <br />network.
