Planning and Building <br />Building Safety Division <br />The Building Safety Division, which is responsible for plan check intakes, plan <br />checking, permit issuance, inspections, and certificates of occupancy, has been able <br />to hire a Permit Services Technician position using Measure X funding. For FY 24-25, <br />the position was responsible for: <br />• 1,400 permits issued <br />• Approximately $50 million in construction valuation of those permits <br />• 20-percent reduction in customer wait times and permit processing times at the <br />public counter, where the employee works <br />• Electronic plan reviews <br />• Staffing PBx, the Planning and Building Agency's express permits program <br />Measure X Success 33 <br />
