S.A. 12-031 <br />Investigator: Brett Andersen Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 12/21/12 Date:01/02/13 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />The female crossed the front of the car and met a male, later identified as IGNACIO LEON, who <br />had exited the driver side door. LEON was wearing a black t-shirt with white letters and was <br />holding a small child. LEON walked away from the vehicle towards the rear of 506 East <br />Washington Avenue. As he did, the female followed him and yelled “Junior, give me the baby!” <br />GARCIA described her view as including the first four steps of a staircase that lead to an <br />upper apartment attached to the rear of 506 East Washington Avenue. LEON carried the baby <br />to the rear of the house and up the stairs. <br />Shortly afterwards, heard two loud “bang, bang” sounds that she believe were <br />gunshots. She looked towards the area she had last seen LEON and saw him coming from the <br />area of the staircase. He quickly walked northbound on the driveway towards the black car he <br />had earlier exited. GARCIA noticed LEON was carrying something in his right hand and did not <br />have the baby with him. GARCIA described the item as black and larger than a cellular <br />telephone. <br />As he neared his vehicle at the end of the driveway, LEON suddenly stopped walking, <br />used his left hand to lift up the front of his black t-shirt, then put the item he had in his right <br />hand into his waistband. LEON ran southbound on the driveway and into the backyard behind <br />506 East Washington. described LEON’s movements as though he was surprised or <br />startled when he got near his vehicle at the end of the driveway. Based on the manner in which <br />he placed the item in his waistband, believed that LEON was armed with a handgun. <br />As LEON ran to the back of the house, noticed two police officers run after him. <br />She described the officers’ movements as slower than LEON and very cautious.
