S.A. 12‐022 <br />Supervising Investigator: R. Seman Date of Report:  09/10/2012 <br />   <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br />ORANGE COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE <br />BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION <br /> <br />PREFACE <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ALMANZA, MARCELINO VALENCIA <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (NON‐FATAL) <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />DATE AND TIME: SEPTEMBER 10, 2012 0017 HOURS <br />LOCATION: 3005 S. BRISTOL AVENUE SANTA ANA, CA <br />AGENCY CASE NUMBERS: SAPD:  12‐26768 <br />OC CRIME LAB:  12‐53567 <br />On Monday, September 10, 2012, at approximately 0100 hours, I spoke with Santa Ana <br />Police Commander COLEMAN who advised  of an officer involved shooting, which occurred  at <br />3005 South Bristol Avenue in the city of Santa Ana.  COLEMAN requested the Orange County <br />District Attorney’s Officer Involved Incident Investigation Team, respond  to the location and <br />conduct an investigation into the incident. <br />I notified District Attorney Investigators TOM CONKLIN, ANDREW ROSS, RICK BRADLEY, <br />PAUL KELLY, STAN BERRY and KORY DEGRAFFENREID and requested they respond to assist in <br />the investigation.  I went to the shooting location and met with personnel assigned to the <br />incident. <br />On September 10, 2012 at approximately 0155 hours, Santa  Ana Police Sergeant MATT <br />SORENSON conducted a  briefing on the known circumstances surrounding the incident for <br />personnel involved in the investigation.   I learned the following from the briefing and <br />preliminary investigation:
