During the shooting incident, when you <br />were up here going to contact, do you know, you know where ESQUIVEL <br />was at the time? <br />AYALA: No, I didn’t see him until I went back to his unit. <br />DAWSON: Okay. And do you know if Officer ESQUIVEL fired his weapon? <br />AYALA: At the time no. <br />DAWSON: And you mentioned you heard other gun shots being fired. <br />AYALA: Yes. <br />DAWSON: How many other gun shots do remember being fired? <br />AYALA: I can’t remember. But, I heard multiple shots and I was thinking uh, I was <br />the one getting shot at. <br />DAWSON: Okay. Just to, when you’re backing up, are you turned around running <br />away, or are you, what’s, uh, how are you backing up as you’re getting to <br />cover? <br />AYALA: Initially, I had my hand extended.
