And then, I saw her step out <br />with a gun from the wall. *** I wasn’t expecting it, I mean you’re ready <br />for it. But you, you weren’t expecting it. <br />DAWSON: Hmm. <br />AYALA: So now, I’m playing catch up. As she steps out she’s holding her gun, <br />she’s looking at me, and I’m thinking oh, I’m in a bad spot, I’m gonna get <br />killed right now, I’m gonna get shot. She’s five, seven, ten feet away from <br />me. She’s just gonna point that gun and she’s gonna shoot me and I’m <br />gonna end up getting killed here in the alley. <br />DAWSON: Hmm. <br />AYALA: And uh, I remember yelling out gun loud. Uh, that’s when I, that’s when I <br />unholstered my weapon and took that sidestep. And I said okay, I’m <br />gonna fight my way out of this and you know, I gotta live. So, as I’m doing <br />all this I start shooting through the wall hoping either the walls penetrate <br />the wall and stop her or it gives me enough time to run back and uh, get <br />some better cover, concealment cause I had none at the time. And so I’m <br />running back, I’m shooting and I make it behind this vehicle, ESQUIVEL’s <br />vehicle and I started running out. I heard the multiple gunshots and I’m <br />thinking man I’m, I’m getting shot at, I’m getting lit up… <br />DAWSON: Uh-huh.
