Lemmon #3174 notified detectives from the Homicide Unit <br />of an in-custody death investigation. Sergeant Lemmon requested the Homicide Unit respond to the Santa Ana <br />Detention Facility to assist with the investigation. <br />1615 hours: <br />Santa Ana Police Correctional Supervisor E. Villegas #3098 conducted a briefing with detectives from the Homicide <br />Unit, inspectors from the Internal Affairs Unit, investigators from the Orange County District Attorney ’s Office and <br />personnel from the Orange County Sheriff Forensic Unit. <br />Correctional Supervisor Villegas advised Santa Ana Police Correctional Officers were escorting the decedent, <br />identified as Freddie Washington, and another inmate to the Orange County Jail.
