1116 North French Street <br />1116 North French Street <br />810 North French Street <br />518 North Broadway <br />1108 North French Street <br />Key: <br />419 East Wellington Avenue <br />922 North Lacy Street <br />' 204 East Washington Avenule <br />419 East Civic Center Drive <br />410 West Fourth Street <br />Ms. Lucy Linnaus, Assistant Planner I, presented the Staff report and recommendation for <br />the categorization of properties listed on the Santa Ana IRegister. <br />Mr. Jon Gothold, property owner of the Alexander Hmme located at 1116 North French <br />Street, spoke in support of staff's recommendation and noted historical information to the <br />Commission and staff regarding the structure and stated that the dates listed for re-roofing <br />should be corrected to read 1930 and 1943 respectively„ <br />Commissioner Giles offered constructive criticism regarding the noticing period and <br />terseness of language on the letter. In addition, he noted that he had been contacted <br />regarding the categorization project and he was unaware of the item being scheduled at the <br />hearing and that the property owners as well as the Cofmission should be informed of the <br />recommended categorization at minimum, two weeks prior to the Commission meeting. <br />Commissioner Chinn commented regarding the nurmber of structures categorized as <br />landmark and reminded the Commission that Iandmarkl structures were structures with the <br />capability of being place on the National Register. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cribb commented that he supported the structures recommended for <br />landmark and stated that he could not understand the abbreviations on the property profile <br />sheets and he requested a legend be added on the font page of the property profile so <br />reference can be easily accessed. <br />Commissioner Kings requested that staff reference the rneighborhood on the property profile <br />sheets and that staff use the updated property profile Sheets for future categorizations of <br />structures. <br />Several Commissioners requested that the State designation abbreviations on the future <br />categorization reports be included. <br />Motion to adopt a resolution approving the categorization of the structures as listed <br />below: <br />Landmark <br />J <br />910 North French Street <br />1116 North French Street <br />810 North French Street <br />518 North Broadway <br />1108 North French Street <br />MOTION: Giles <br />AYES: Kings, Chinn, Corpin, Cribb, <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Brenes and Berry <br /> <br />419 East Wellington Avenue <br />922 North Lacy <br />204 East Washington Avenue <br />419 East Civic Center Drive <br />410 West Fourth Street <br />SECONDED: Cribb <br />Giles, Gartner, and Bustamante <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />
