the irrigation system, have in-house staff make the repairs, and/or request another <br />business entity to submit bids for the repair work. <br />B. Hardscape Maintenance <br />a) All paved areas, including but not limited to paved parking lots, pool decks, stamped or <br />other enriched hard surface areas, shall be cleaned at least once a week between <br />Monday and Friday. Vacuums, blowers, sweepers or other approved equipment may be <br />used to clean hardscape areas. Debris shall not be blown or swept onto adjacent streets <br />or property. All debris must be picked up by the Contractor and removed from the site. <br />The City must approve any equipment that is to be used for cleaning hardscape. <br />b) Picnic facilities and park benches, including but not limited to picnic tables, barbecues, <br />benches, concrete pads and shelters, shall be maintained in a safe and clean condition. <br />(1) All picnic amenities (picnic tables, barbecues, picnic shelters, concrete picnic pads, <br />etc.) and park benches shall be cleaned every day Monday through Friday to <br />assure that all trash, debris, glass, staples, nails, tape, wire, etc. is removed. <br />(2) All concrete areas beneath picnic amenities, park bench areas, patio areas, <br />adjacent building entrances shall be hosed down once a month using a garden <br />hose and high pressure nozzle. <br />(3) All barbecues shall have ashes, charcoal and any other such materials removed at <br />least once a week. <br />c) All parts facilities with flagpoles shall have an American flag displayed at all times. The <br />Contractor shall visually inspect the flag every day to assure it is in good condition. <br />Should, in the opinion of the Contractor, the flag not be in good condition (faded, <br />discolored, torn and/or having holes) Contractor shall immediately request from the <br />Director a new flag. Contractor shall raise the new flag immediately upon receipt from <br />the Director. <br />d) Drinking fountains shall be clean, polished, sanitized and unplugged every day Monday <br />through Friday, The Contractor shall use approved germicidal cleaner and products to <br />assure that drinking fountains are clean, polished and free of any stains or mineral build <br />up. <br />9. Playground/Tot-Lot Areas (if Applicable To Contract Parks) <br />a) The Contractor shall provide maintenance of all playground/tot-lot sand and rubberized <br />areas once each week. Maintenance shall include, but is not limited to, loosening of <br />compacted areas, regrading sand areas to level condition (eliminating ruts, depressions, <br />build up areas, etc.), sifting of sand to assure that debris and any other foreign objects <br />are removed, and removal of weeds and trash and other undesirable material. <br />Rubberized fall areas shall be cleaned of sand and debris. Any sand that accumulates <br />on the rubberized surface shall be reused. <br />b) The City shall be responsible for all playground equipment and tot -lot area safety <br />inspections. <br />10.
