Stage 2 Construction <br />Stage 2 shall include the following <br />construction activities: <br />• Switch traffic to the north side of First Street <br />• Remove conflicting signs and striping <br />• Install temporary K -rails per Caltrans standards <br />• Install new signs per plan <br />• Start improvements on the south side <br />• Demolish the existing south structure, <br />including superstructure and substructure, <br />Existing piles shall be cut off one foot below <br />the channel invert. <br />• Construct the new structure (foundation, <br />work shall take place during the dry season, <br />April 30 to October 1) <br />• Complete construction of the 16 inch water <br />reclamation line and tie -ins <br />• Construct the retaining wall on the southeast <br />quadrant of the bridge <br />Stage 3 Construction <br />Stage 3 shall include the following <br />construction activities: <br />• Remove existing conflicting striping <br />• Install delineators <br />• Install temporary striping <br />• Place traffic on both north and south side of <br />new structure <br />• Complete the work in the median <br />(closures pour) <br />• Complete punch list <br />• Complete irrigation and landscaping <br />First Street Stage 2 Bridge Construction Cross Section <br />Typical Section <br />First Street Elevation <br />NNUL City of Santa Ana I Public Works Agency <br />First Street Bridge Replacement j Construction Management <br />25E -40 <br />Page 15 <br />
