PE <br />Vincent Thomas Bridge, Caltrans District 7, Los Angeles, CA <br />Senior Structure Engineer responsible for the $7 million structures construction to remove deck cover <br />and replace with polyester concrete and repair superstructure water and airlines. Coordinated the work <br />with the Port of Long Beach, Port of Los Angles and the Coast Guard. Administered the entire project for <br />Caltrans District 7 including the inspection staff. <br />Commodore Schuyler Hiem Drawbridge, Caltrans District 7, Los Angeles, CA <br />Senior Structure Engineer responsible for structures construction of concrete supports at abutments <br />and bents, replacement of existing bolts and rocker bearings and installing modified cable retainers <br />at all superstructure hinge location. Administered the entire structures contract for Caltrans including <br />supervision of staff including AC and PCC paving, sewer and drainage systems, earthwork, grading, sewer <br />and drainage facilities, structures retrofit, utility relocation and traffic control. Also monitored Contractor's <br />SWPPP plan. <br />1-405 Freeway Corridor, Stage 1, from Manchester to Highway 90 to LAX Airport, Caltrans District 7, <br />Los Angeles, CA <br />Mr. Saleh was the senior bridge engineer responsible for the construction administration for the $18 <br />million replacement of approach slabs, joint seals, removing and replacement of median and exterior <br />barriers, reconstructed the deck overhangs, constructing masonry sound walls, constructing new deck <br />drains and replacing an existing retaining wall with a new shotcrete/cast-in-place concrete soil nail wall, <br />a 30 foot high tieback wall. Project challenges included right of way issues, differing site condition for <br />the construction of 30 foot high soil nail wall, construction of a monolithic 30 foot high wall, residents <br />complaints, and heavy traffic control. <br />1-405 Highway Corridor, Stage 2, from Hwy 90 to 1-10 Fwy, Caltrans District 7, Los Angles, CA <br />Senior Structure Engineer responsible for the $170 million structures widening of 13 existing bridges with new <br />cast in place pre-stressed concrete box girders, replacing 2 new spans with cast in place prestressed concrete <br />box structure and constructing 15 retaining walls and sound walls. Administered the structure construction <br />part of this project and managed the structure inspection staff. <br />SR-91 Approach from Broadway US to Downey UC, Caltrans District 7, CA <br />Senior Structure Engineer responsible for the $14 million replacement of 24 approach and departure <br />slabs. The contract provisions specified that prior to the replacement of the slabs the existing soil below <br />the slabs be consolidated. The specials calls for drilling 3 inch diameter holes on the existing slabs and <br />injecting low slump grout up to 9 meters in holes that are laid out on the slabs per the spacing provided <br />on the contract plans. Challenges included spacing of piles were not producing required results, fast field <br />decision to alleviate the problem without much delay. Traffic control, field determination of additional <br />slabs for repairs and elimination of slabs that did not require repair. <br />Imperial Highway Grade Separation Fly Over, Caltrans District 7, Wilmington, CA <br />Mr. Saleh was the senior structure engineer for the stage construction of this $12 million, 9 span, 1100 <br />foot bridge.
