region's non -farm employment growth rate include Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities (10 <br />percent) and Manufacturing (8.6 percent). <br />Kings County <br />2006 -2016 Projection Highlights <br />Education Services, Health Care and Social Assistance, Government, and Manufacturing sectors <br />combined will generate an estimated 3,000 jobs, or 71 percent of all non -farm employment growth. <br />The fastest growing non -farm industry sector is Information with an annual average growth rate of 3.3 <br />percent. Other major industry sectors with significant growth rates are Education Services, Health Care <br />and Social Assistance (3.1 percent), Transportation, Warehousing, and Utilities (2.5 percent) and <br />Manufacturing (2.5 percent). The average annual growth rates for Natural Resources, Mining, and <br />Construction, Wholesale Trade, and Financial Services will not exceed the 1.2 percent growth rate for <br />the county's non -farm employment. <br />North Central Counties Consortium <br />2006 -2016 Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake and Mendocino Counties Projection Highlights <br />The largest amount of job growth is expected to occur in the Government sector with the addition of <br />almost 3,200 jobs, with most occurring in the Local Government segment. Retail trade will provide the <br />second largest amount of job growth with the addition of over 1,000 new jobs. Significant employment <br />increases are expected in Education Services, Health Care and Social Assistance (420) and Professional <br />and Business Services (250). The other major industry sectors are expected to make marginal <br />employment gains except for Manufacturing, which is forecast to decline by 370 jobs during the outlook <br />period. <br />The fastest growing non -farm industry sector is Government with an average annual growth rate of just <br />over 1 percent per year. Average annual growth rates in Retail Trade (0.7 percent) and Transportation, <br />Warehousing and Utilities (0.5) will equal or exceed the 0.5 percent annual growth rate for total non- <br />farm employment in the county. <br />2006 -2016 Colusa, Glenn, and Tehama Highlights <br />The largest amount of job growth is expected to occur in the Government sector with the addition of <br />almost 1,300 jobs. Education Services, Health Care and Social Assistance, and the Transportation, <br />Warehousing, and Utility sectors are expected to contribute 260 jobs each during the outlook period. <br />Employment increases are also expected in Wholesale Trade (210), and Leisure and Hospitality (200). <br />The fastest growing non -farm industry sector is Wholesale Trade with an average annual growth rate of <br />about 2 percent per year. The Government sector follows closely with an estimated annual growth rate <br />of about 1.5 percent. <br />58 <br />
