Please be concise in your response. Only the
viewable space will print.
The Villa is a residential rehabilitation program for alcoholic and substance - abusing women that provides a
temporary, safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for women who are often homeless or at risk of
homelessness, where they can learn to live a life free of addiction and begin a lifelong path toward recovery and
self- sufficiency. Each resident is assigned a counselor /case manager who works with her to develop a short-
and long -term recovery plan that includes action steps, measurable goals, and a timeline, allowing both client
and staff to assess their achievement and note challenges to be addressed. Beginning with short-term goals
such as honoring curfews and participating in chores, the recovery plan moves the client, during the average
three -month stay with us, in the direction of longer -term achievements such as planning to return to school,
finding employment, and re- establishing relationships with family. Other services we provide include daily meals
prepared with the help of the residents, 12 -Step and Big Book classes, speaker events and panel discussions
with former residents, counseling, physical and mental healthcare, in -house education and employment
referrals, and social and family services. Women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol, and who are homeless
or at risk of being homeless, have a unique set of needs and circumstances, which can include domestic
violence, mental illness, single parenthood and unplanned pregnancy. Many times these women have co-
occurring disorders and other needs. We respond to each client's individual needs, partnering with other
agencies such as the Huntington Beach Community Clinic, the Wise Place, and the Mariposa Women's Center
to provide healthcare, counseling, and other services. In some cases, we refer women to longer -term supportive
living services after leaving us, following up with them to make sure they have transitioned successfully.
Schedule of Performance
Estimate the number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12 -month
contract period per quarter.
