<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 4.1 Field In General <br /> <br /> 4.1.1 When adding field composition mix (brickdust) to any City of <br /> Santa Ana ball field, the specific type of material to be used is: <br /> Pro Gold Infield Mix with stabilizer from Gail Materials (951) <br /> 279-1095. <br /> 4.2 Pitchers Mound/Home Plate/Basepath Areas <br /> <br /> When adding a mix with a higher clay composition material to any pitcher's <br /> mound/home plate/base-path area, the specific type of material to be used is: Hill <br /> Topper Home Plate and Mound Mix. <br /> 5.0 Equipment <br /> <br /> The contractor shall provide and have "on hand" at all times during the brickdust <br /> maintenance operation the following equipment. <br /> <br /> 5.1 Utility Vehicle <br /> <br /> Small tight turn radios (13') vehicle designed especially for this type of work. <br /> This vehicle shall have the capability to make circle and figure eight patterns <br /> completely within the skinned brickdust infield area and not trespass onto <br /> adjacent turf areas. Vehicles manufactured by John Deere, Ryan, Toro and <br /> Daihatsu may be acceptable. <br /> 5.2 Drags <br /> <br /> 5.2.1 Scarifying Drag: Used to scratch up or loosen up the skinned <br /> area. The drag shall be made of heavy-duty steel capable of <br /> carrying additional weight (`s). Digging teeth shall be hardened <br /> and pointed and be 1/2" in diameter. Pull chain shall be included. <br /> <br /> 5.2.2 Cutting and Leveling Drag: Used to level and backfill low spots <br /> in the skinned area. The leveling drag and cutting blades shall <br /> be made of galvanized steel. This drag shall feature cutting <br /> blades that are adjustable and capable of cutting down dirt build- <br /> up (high spots) and depositing dirt into holes (low spots) creating <br /> a smooth and level playing surface. Pull chain shall be included. <br /> 5.2.3 Grooming or Finish Drag: Used to complete dragging procedure <br /> on a daily basis and lighter/gentle movement of brickdust. This <br /> drag shall be galvanized metal "door-mat" link. Pull chain shall <br /> be included. Drag shall be 6' in length by 6' in width. <br /> 5.3 Other Equipment <br /> <br /> 5.3.1 Hand Tamp: 20 lb. variety with 48" min. handle. Used to <br /> compact worn areas around bases, home plate and pitching <br /> mound. <br /> <br /> <br /> 31 <br /> 251-41 <br />
