c) Water Conservation <br />(1) The Contractors Certified Irrigation Technician shall meet once a month with Park <br />Services to review the City's Monthly Water Conservation Report to discuss water <br />conservation strategies. These discussions may include, but not be limited to, the <br />Contractor turning off irrigation systems during periods of rainfall and times when <br />suspension of irrigation is desirable to conserve water while remaining within the <br />guidelines of the EAW. <br />(2) When Park Services determines that plant material (turf, groundcover, shrubs, and <br />trees) must be irrigated, all controllers shall be activated within twenty -four (24) <br />hours. <br />d) Inspection and Reporting <br />(1) The Irrigation Technicians shall physically inspect the operation of all irrigation <br />systems once a month and prepare a written report specifying park name, <br />controller location /name, start times, run times, program name, station number, <br />and repairs needed, The Contractor shall maintain all sprinkler systems using City <br />standard irrigation products and details. All repairs shall be to City specifications <br />and details. Repairs to irrigation heads shall be with matching precipitation <br />nozzles. Contractor shall ensure that excessive over spray /runoff into street right - <br />of -ways or other areas not intended to receive irrigation is controlled. The <br />Contractor shall repair at his own expense any irrigation head and lateral line <br />rendered inoperable or malfunctioning due to attrition, vandalism, etc. All repairs <br />shall be performed by Irrigation Technicians and shall be "tagged" using the City's <br />"tagging" system noting the Company and Irrigation Tech that performed the repair, <br />the date of the repair and the Contractor's and Irrigation Technicians contact <br />information. All repairs shall be warranted for two years from the date of the <br />approved repair. All head and lateral lines shall be repaired within one week of <br />discovery of malfunction /repairs needed. All other irrigation repairs shall be <br />performed immediately following approval of the work. <br />(2) Contractor shall perform a visual inspection of all irrigated areas once per week. <br />All areas receiving marginal coverage shall receive supplemental irrigation by <br />being irrigated by a portable irrigation method. The contractor shall furnish all <br />portable hoses, nozzles, sprinklers, etc., necessary to accomplish this additional <br />irrigation. Care shall be exercised to prevent a waste of water, erosion, and /or <br />detrimental seepage into existing underground improvements or structures. <br />e) Repairs <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for repairs to all irrigation heads, swing joints and <br />lateral lines as a part of this agreement. The Director will be responsible for repairs to <br />the irrigation system from the valve to the water meter. <br />8. Hardscape Maintenance <br />a) All non - pedestrian paved areas, including but not limited to paved parking lots, curb <br />gutters, pool decks, stamped or other enriched hard roadway surface areas, shall be <br />thoroughly cleaned once every other week between Monday and Friday.
