Triada Garden is an infall project <br />in the Station District. <br />PROGRAM EVALUATION <br />Homeownership Preservation <br />Communities across the country were severely impacted by mortgage foreclosures <br />and declining property values. In response, Congress passed the Housing and <br />Economic Recovery Act of 2008, which funded the Neighborhood Stabilization <br />Program (NSP) to help revitalize and stabilize impacted communities. The NSP was <br />intended to provide targeted assistance to acquire and redevelop foreclosed homes <br />and residential properties that might otherwise become sources ofblight within their <br />communities. <br />The City successfully applied for three rounds ofNSP grants and received more than <br />$17 million to implement five programs: Downpayment Assistance; Acquisition & <br />Rehabilitation of Single Family Homes; Acquisition & Rehabilitation of <br />Condominiums and Historic Homes; and Acquisition & Rehabilitation of Rental <br />Housing. To date, the City has been successful in achieving the following <br />accomplishments: <br />• Acquisition & Rehabilitation of Condos and Historic Homes: 22 units <br />• Single - Family Acquisition/Rehabilitation: 51 units <br />• Down Payment Assistance: 7 units <br />• Rental Acquisition/Rehabilitation: 77 units <br />Table D -5 on the following page describes progress made to individual housing <br />assistance programs. <br />JAA <br />D -18 CITY OF SANTA ANA GENERAL PLAN HOUSING ELEMENT <br />
