Approximately 5 -7 different questions are asked and some examples are below: <br />• I think about this aspect of my identity the most <br />• 1 think about this aspect of my identity the least <br />• This part of my identity has the most effect on how people treat me <br />• This was the most emphasized in my family <br />• This was the least emphasizes in my family <br />• 1 feel the most discomfort about this part of my identity <br />Life Skills Targeted: Self- Awareness, Social Awareness <br />Learning Objective: <br />After attending this lesson, trainees will be able to: <br />✓ Acknowledge and visually demonstrate that all of us have complex, multifaceted identities and to help people <br />examine which parts of themselves they emphasize, or not, and why. <br />Materials /Resources: <br />• Diversity PowerPoint (Located in Staff Docs /Support Services /Life Skills /Diversity) <br />Various "poster size" signs with the terms; Gender, Race, Sexual Orientation, Social Class, Education Level, <br />Religion on them <br />Special Instructions: Because of the intensity of this workshop on participants, Case Managers are asked to be <br />present during this workshop and follow -up with trainees who need more time to process their experiences. At least <br />20 -30 minutes should be allotted to process toward the end of this workshop and a follow -up in class the next day is <br />ideal. Facilitator should also remind Instructors when this workshop is conducted. <br />Topic: Master Student <br />Approved Presenter(s): TBD <br />Overview: The Master Student workshop will teach trainees basic study skill methods along with goal planning and <br />time management concepts. Trainees will be taught different study skill approaches such as memorization <br />techniques (using index cards), how to take class and textbook notes via outline format, or how to use recording <br />devices in class.
