zing 9111111 <br />Support services meetings are a critical part of Taller San Jose's training program. Support Services Specialists are <br />responsible for offering one -on -one meetings to trainees and interns throughout their participation in the training <br />program. The purpose of these meetings is to: <br />1. Meet the participant's immediate needs; Assist with trouble- shooting and help them cope with day -to -day <br />program and life demands <br />2. Provide support and coaching with trouble areas and link to appropriate supportive services and activities <br />3. Work on Taller San Jose goals: <br />✓ SOCIAL / EMOTIONAL WELLNESS: Goal Setting, Resourceful, Self- Awareness, Social Awareness, Self - <br />Management <br />✓ HEALTHY BEHAVIORS: Healthy Relationships, Drug free and Crime free, Stable Housing, Reliable Childcare <br />& Transportation, Community Engagement <br />✓ TECHNOLOGICAL LITERACY: Use technology to find a job, Use technology for a job <br />✓ FINANCIAL LITERACY: Open and use a Bank Account, Learn to Budget <br />✓ EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT: Improve Reading & Math Skills, Finish GED /high school diploma, Go to <br />college, apprenticeship or post- secondary program <br />✓ EMPLOYMENT ATTAINMENT: Professionalism, Get a Job, Keep a Job, Job Advancement, Enroll in Health <br />Benefits <br />Training Phase 1:1 Meetings <br />Meetings must be provided accordingly and be documented in Taller San Jose's data management system. Refer to <br />Appendix D for a visual of the content below: <br />0 -8 weeks of training: Individual meetings for all trainees on a weekly basis <br />9 -16 weeks of training: Continue weekly meetings for trainees with low to mid scores on Casey and /or those <br />who demonstrate an outstanding need for ongoing support <br />Transition to every other week for individuals who present with higher scores on Casey <br />and are meeting the demands of training <br />Length of Meeting: At least 30 minutes per Trainee unless more is warranted <br />Characteristics of an Effective 1:1 Support Meeting during Training Phase <br />An effective meeting has the following characteristics: <br />✓ Support Services Specialist assesses how the trainee is coping with the demands of training and outside <br />responsibilities <br />✓ Helps Trainee learn to address any challenges and issues that arise <br />✓ Reviews progress on ISP goals and updates them if needed <br />✓ Always provides opportunities for trainee to come up with solutions <br />Page 36 Taller San Jose, Support Services Manual EXHIBIT A <br />
