_ 2015 Orange County Children's Thera eutic.Arts Center <br />Youth Employment Program - WIOA Proposal <br />Health Agency will provide WIOA participants with other health resources and mental health <br />specialists, if needed. <br />8. Public Speaking Skills — All Youth will be asked to take a training that will allow them to learn <br />the necessary skills for public speaking, including how to speak to employers and/or new offsite <br />work placements and new potential employers. Also, youth will learn how to create and give <br />oral presentations, as well as how to speak to people when networking for future connections. <br />11.0vic Engagement and/or Leadership Development <br />A. Can your organization offer a civic engagement opportunity or leadership development <br />opportunity for WIOA youth and other youth in the community, if so, please describe. — <br />AII WIOA youth will be asked to participate in the youth council meetings. They will be asked to <br />contribute ideas/information on how to better serve the youth in Santa Ana. Also, all WIOA <br />youth will be asked to participate in the city council meetings the first Tuesday of every month, <br />and research what is taking place and what ideas they can contribute to help the community <br />improve! Finally, youth will also be asked to assist MECCA collaborative, by engaging with our <br />partner agencies, and creating and presenting employment workshops to other transitional age <br />youth and adults at those sites, in order to contribute to a better future for our OC community! <br />B. Indicate the number of youth that will participate in the civic engagement or <br />leadership development opportunity — All WIOA youth will be asked to engage in <br />leadership development opportunities at OCCTAC and the community, through civic <br />engagement activities that will help their community be a better place to live in! <br />C. Special consideration for organizations that can leverage funds to provide services to <br />non-WIOA youth participants — Yes, but this would require more discussion and <br />coordination with ALL WIOA Agencies involved, so the responsibility is equally divided <br />between all partner agencies. <br />12. Supportive Services: <br />A. Will your organization provide supportive services to youth such as gas cards, bus pass, <br />childcare assistance, etc. If so, please describe. — Yes. All youth will be provided with <br />supportive services during all phases of the WIOA program. Supportive services are available <br />to those youth approved for the program that show limited resources to meet basic needs, <br />and have expressed to our case manager or educational counselor the need for additional <br />support services. <br />w10A Youth enrolled at OCCTAC are eligible for the following: <br />1. 30 day bus passes: Every other month as long as they provide proof of a steady <br />attendance to all WIOA activities and or accomplish employment or educational goals <br />2. Gas Cards: Every month as long as they provide proof of a steady attendance to all <br />WIOA activities and or need to accomplish employment or educational goals. As well <br />as proof of their license. <br />3. Academic Supplies: All WIOA participants are eligible for academic supplies, such as: <br />note books, pens, pencils, rulers, line paper, binders etc. For students who have <br />XOMIMa <br />
