in a 10 ft. deep transfer ramp at the south end of the building. <br /> Empty C&D trucks will weigh out on the exit scales at the <br /> north end of the facility and leave through the north gate. <br /> Wood and Yard Waste Processing <br /> Grinding equipment and a separate building will be <br /> available for the chipping of wood, yard trimmings, and other <br /> green waste. The resulting material will be suitable for landfill <br /> cover, mulch, or feedstock for a composting operation. <br /> Wood separated from C&D debris and commercial waste, <br /> and yard waste will be transported from their respective <br /> processing buildings, weighed at the recycling center scales <br /> at the north end of the facility, and delivered to the Green & <br /> Wood Processing Building for grinding. Commercial <br /> landscapers will enter the facility at the east gate, weigh-in on <br /> a 70 ft. computerized truck scale, state the City of generation <br /> of their material, and proceed to the processing building. <br /> All material will be deposited on the concrete floor of the <br /> building. Designated tipping areas are not required since all <br /> the incoming material will have been weighed for the City at <br /> the incoming scales. Floor sorters will pull contaminants out <br /> of the material and a loader will feed it into an enclosed <br /> grinder. <br /> Processed material will be screened, stockpiled, and then <br /> loaded into trucks for sale as boiler fuel, soil amendment, or <br /> compost feedstock depending on markets. A dual, <br /> automated loading conveyor that travels over the trailer will be <br /> used to evenly distribute the ground wood and yard waste <br /> into the transfer trailers without the driver having to continually <br /> reposition the vehicle.
