Pre - Assignment Training <br />Successful completion of pre- assignment training is a condition of employment. In addition, all Associates are <br />required to complete training in Active Shooter and enroll in SecuritySTARSsm. This foundation of training and <br />development assures that all new Associates are on the same page, and that there is a clear understanding of <br />our "USA Way' of delivering better outcomes. <br />USA requires a minimum of eight hours of pre- assignment training, delivered live through USA Security <br />Academy Security Officer Basic Training (SOBT) in most states. Our mandatory SOBT instills a fundamental <br />working knowledge of the Officer's responsibilities, reduces on -site errors and improves productivity. All <br />Officer candidates must pass testing on all 12 units of the SOBT training to be eligible for employment. <br />Candidates who fail SOBT testing on any module cannot be hired. <br />U.S. Security Associates, Inc. y, <br />Confidential Safety and Security Services Proposal 7� <br />25K -86 . <br />Security Officer B asic Training .: <br />Module 1 <br />Define common vocabulary and develop a basic understanding of industry practices; identify <br />Introduction to Security <br />qualities of a "sharp" Officer and common duties of USA Officers. <br />Module 2 <br />Focus on standard security and USA policies and procedures, including problem resolution, <br />Policies and Procedures <br />absenteeism and tardiness, call -offs, injury avoidance, and proper behavior. <br />Module 3 <br />Define and recognize sexual harassment based on the two legally recognized categories and <br />Sexual Harassment <br />the three types of harassment; learn reporting procedures for harassment incidents. <br />Module 4 <br />Identify main causes of accidents and injuries in the workplace, provide practical techniques <br />Workplace Safety <br />for preventing accidents and injuries, and emphasize importance ofcreating culture ofsafety. <br />Module 5 <br />Understand basic principles of professionalism, including importance of policies and <br />Professional Conduct & <br />procedures; establish Code of Ethics and maintain the importance of ethical behavior. <br />Professionalism <br />Module 6 <br />Explain authority and standards of arrests for USA Officers; determine use -of -force <br />Legal Authority and Liability <br />guidelines; define and explain types of liability. <br />Aspects <br />Reports are the main source of communication between the Security Officer, the company <br />and client management; therefore it is very important that all reports are effective, clear, <br />Module 7 <br />concise, professional and well written in terms of the "Who, What, When, Where, Why and <br />Report Writing <br />How" elements. This unit provides the Associate with the necessary tools to write effective <br />reports via proper field note taking etiquette, characteristics of a good report and a list of <br />information needed for every report. <br />Identify the components of a typical site security system; learn the significance of "defense <br />Module 8 <br />in depth "; identify the types and purposes of barriers, fencing, CCTV systems, alarm systems, <br />Introduction to Physical Security <br />lighting, access control systems, and more. <br />Module 9 <br />Define and establish importance of fixed posts and patrols; establish awareness, observation, <br />Fixed Posts and Patrols <br />and perception techniques. <br />Module 10 <br />Establish procedures for medical, fire, and natural emergencies, as well as response to bomb <br />Emergency Situations <br />threats. <br />Prepare for an active shooter situation, including understanding the characteristics and <br />Module 11 <br />behavior of active shooters; learn how to protect yourself and the people you serve in an <br />Active Shooter <br />active shooter situation; learn how to assist law enforcement. <br />Identify types of terrorists and terrorist organizations and learn how they attack; learn how to <br />Module 12 <br />recognize and respond properly to terrorist threats such as bomb, chemical, and biological; <br />Anti - Terrorism <br />identify counter measures for crime and terrorism prevention. <br />U.S. Security Associates, Inc. y, <br />Confidential Safety and Security Services Proposal 7� <br />25K -86 . <br />
