1. Out -of -School youth will be enrolled in college level SAC courses in the field of digital <br />media. This will insure that our program will enroll each one of our participants in a center for <br />higher education by the end of the first quarter. <br />2. Participants will be introduced to post -secondary education via MOOC's that will provide <br />access to courses from some of the most elite universities in the U.S and the world. <br />3. Interns will attend workshops on college searches, college applications, scholarships and <br />financial aid, as part of their on-the-job training. Interns will also be taken on field trips to local <br />colleges such as Santa Ana College, Cal State Fullerton, Chapman University, the Art Institute in <br />Santa Ana, Cal State Long Beach and UC Irvine. <br />4. The Santa Ana Public Library works closely with the Adelante program at Santa Ana <br />College, an initiative advocating for a college degree in every home in the city. High school <br />students may enroll in the Adelante program and upon completion of general education <br />requirements are guaranteed admission to either University of California Irvine or California <br />State University Fullerton. <br />5. Santa Ana College and Santa Ana Public Library have recently partnered to create a Higher <br />Education Center (HEC) at the Santa Ana Central Library. Youth will be provided access to all <br />services/programs planned at the HEC (Please refer to attachment W-5 for list o£HEC <br />services/programs) <br />F. Describe the certificates that youth will be able to earn while in your program or within <br />1 year after exit. <br />1. Santa Ana College Course Credits <br />• 3 College Credits: Art 195: Intro to Digital Media Arts (15-25 Youth) <br />2. Santa Ana College School of Continuing Education <br />• Adult High School Diploma Program <br />• High School Exit Exam Preparation (GED, HSET, etc.) for participants requiring the <br />services <br />• Vocational courses leading to the attainment of state -approved certificates in areas of <br />entry-level high employment potential. This will be provided in follow-up year. <br />3. Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Pilot Program Certificates: <br />• ALISON — Advanced Learning Interactive Systems Online (Alison.com). Provides <br />industry recognized free certified training in a variety of subjects. Currently used by <br />Employ Florida and Virginia Workforce Connection to train job seekers requiring <br />additional skills and certifications. <br />• Microsoft Digital Literacy- IT Basics, Internet & Productivity Programs Diploma (35 <br />youth) - Diploma is verified by Microsoft and is industry recognized. (Completed during <br />program year) <br />• Google Applications Certifications — courses and certificates developed and verified by <br />Google and are industry recognized. (Offered during Follow-up year) <br />o Google Webmaster Certificate <br />o Google Fundamentals of Marketing Youth Business Online Certificate <br />o Fundamentals Google Docs Certificate <br />o Exploring Google Apps Certificate <br />o Google Applications for Business certificate <br />o Fundamentals of Google Android Development Certificate <br />o Google AdSense Certificate <br />EXHIBIT A <br />
