This date was chosen because October 25th is
viewed as the Intern'I Artist Day in some countries including Canada & US. With the
support of the city grant for Investing in the Arts we were able to create a wonderful
community event. Artists, workshop coordinators and performers were able to get paid
for their time and their support. During this day several local artists painted live, others
provided art activities, workshops and musical performances. Anyone attending can
engage with the artist and the cultural experience.
This year we would like to use the grant funds for one event, to make the Art &
Culture Festival a popular Santa Ana annual event. By investing twice as much for
marketing, the event can be promoted through various mediums in Santa Ana and
Orange County to increase public attendance. Furthermore, by paying skilled artists a
better fee for their workshops and for their performances, we can guarantee a higher
quality output and outcome for a greater impact in the community.
This event exposes people of all ages and backgrounds to art related issues,
materials, tools, techniques, etc. It also includes art demos and product knowledge so
that blooming artist have a method of enriching their art knowledge. Cultural workshops,
such as recycling, nutrition, herbal traditional use, and decomposing, bring new and
ancient ideas together. Fresh ways to see our evolving society and appreciation of our
diverse cultures is necessary for a healthy city development. The entertainment
always includes cultural performances, including ceremony native songs, local youth
dance groups, folk traditional music and spoken word.
The Art and Culture Festival in Santa Ana represents the diversity of the city of
Santa Ana. People from all ages can come participate and learn for free during this day
