No new mitigation is required. <br />g) 'llie California Integrated Waste Management Act (AB:939) vitanged the focus of solid waste <br />management from landfill to diversion strategies (e.g., source reduction, recycling,.und <br />composting). The purpose of the diversion strategics is to reduce dependence (in landfills for solid <br />waste disposal. AB 939 established mandatory diversion goals of 25 percent by 1995 and 50 <br />percent by 2000. The City provides curbside recycling for both residential and commercial uses, <br />which counts toward the City's solid waste diversion rate. The;City also provides industrial <br />customers with roll -off service for bins or specialized 'compactors each weak. The City also <br />collects curbside residential green waste, which also counts toward the City's diversion -rate.' <br />`llte Revised Project would comply with existing and future statutes and regulations, including <br />waste diversion programs mandated by City, Stale, or federal law. In addition, as discussed <br />above, the Revised Project would not wsull in an cuessive production ofsolid waste beyond that <br />which was analyzed;under the Approved Project and would therefore not resulCin the exceedance <br />of the capacity of the existing landfill serving the Pr0jcct site. Therefore, the Revised Project <br />would not_result in an impact related to federal, State, and local statutes and rcgidatioas related to, <br />solid wastes. The 2evised Project would not result in nett?significant impacts beyond those <br />identified in the Certified EIR.
