NaphCare will adhere to HIPAA standards and requirements. <br />HIPAA Compliance <br />NaphCare's EHR system, TechCare®, meets all of the U.S. Department of Health Services <br />requirements for HIPAA compliance. We understand the importance of ensuring security and <br />privacy in the protection of inmate records as well as restricting unauthorized user access to these <br />records. We have established HIPAA protocols to be utilized by our staff members in order to ensure <br />that protected health information is kept confidential and only disclosed in compliance with <br />applicable HIPAA regulations and/or California State law requirements. <br />11. Nutritional Services <br />NaphCare will continue to coordinate with the established food service contractor to ensure the <br />provision of medically necessary clinical diets. The following are examples of diets that may be <br />ordered from food service: <br />I. Cardiac diet <br />ii. Diabetic/caloric controlled diet <br />iii. Gastric soft diet <br />iv. Pregnancy diet <br />V. High protein/high caloric diet <br />vi. Clear liquid diet <br />vii. Restricted protein. sodium and/or potassium diet <br />b. NaphCare staff will evaluate the medical special diet list weekly to determine the necessity of the <br />special diets. <br />c. A report consisting of special diets needs will be generated weekly and submitted to the Security <br />Supervisor. <br />d. Coordination and ordering of special diets will be documented in inmates' medical files. <br />NUTRITIONAL SERVICES <br />NaphCare provides a system for managing the nutritional needs of inmates and improving continuity of <br />care. We collaborate with the established food service provider to ensure the provision of medically <br />necessary diets.
