Public Works Agency <br />www.santa-ana.org/pw <br />Item # 23 <br />City of Santa Ana <br />20 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, CA 92701 <br /> Staff Report <br />September 16, 2025 <br />TOPIC: Water System Mapping and Software Services <br />AGENDA TITLE <br />Agreement with iWater, Inc. for Water System Mapping and Software Services (Non- <br />General Fund) <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Authorize the City Manager to execute an agreement with iWater, Inc. to provide water <br />system mapping and software services, for an amount not to exceed $1,750,000, for a <br />three-year term beginning September 16, 2025 and expiring September 15, 2028, with <br />provisions for two, one-year extensions (Agreement No. A-2025-XXX). <br />GOVERNMENT CODE 84308 APPLIES: Yes <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency Water Resources Division (PWA) operates and maintains the <br />City’s water and sanitary sewer systems. The water system is comprised of <br />approximately 480 miles of water main, 21 groundwater wells, seven pump stations, 10 <br />reservoirs with a storage capacity of 49 million gallons, four pressure regulating <br />stations, and seven connection points to Metropolitan Water District. The system has an <br />average daily demand of 30 million gallons from its roughly 45,500 metered service <br />connections. <br />PWA has been actively upgrading its infrastructure digital mapping and asset <br />management system to improve and strengthen the City’s asset management <br />capabilities and currently uses iWater, Inc.’s infraMAP (infraMAP) software application <br />for mapping and cataloging the City’s sewer and water system infrastructure and <br />assets. The infraMAP software is also utilized across the multiple sections that comprise <br />the Water Resources Division to schedule work tasks, record system updates, and <br />serve as the system of record for many documents. The proposed agreement with <br />iWater, Inc. allows PWA to expand the scope of services to include GIS mapping <br />updates, ongoing software and hardware maintenance and support, integration with <br />cloud-based systems through the infraMAP application, and on-site geodatabase <br />support. These enhancements will significantly improve field data collection and <br />strengthen back-office operations by integrating existing data with modern cloud-based <br />tools.
