Care Ambulance Service offers EMT -Basic Skills'Days twice a month. Field Training <br />Officers facilitate the Skills Days, which allow employees to have one-on-one assistance <br />with skills. Care Ambulance EMTs' are required to participate in at least one Skills Day <br />annually. All of the Care Ambulance Service Skills Days are open to employees from <br />other provider agencies. <br />Performance Improvement Action Plans for Field Employees <br />The management team of Care Ambulance has always taken immediate action to <br />correct deficiencies in employee.performance. Through this program,'the level of <br />correction is greatly enhanced. In the event that QI Committee or Care Management Is <br />made aware of a clinical issue from the. EMS agency, or the employee, or a customer <br />an investigation will be conducted. If the employee has an area that needs to be <br />improved then the Director of Operations., Division Managers, Specialty Care Nurse <br />Manager, Training Manager,and Medical Director will be h ade aware. <br />The employee will be provided the Initial educational opportunity for improving his or her <br />performance by using an Improvement Action Plan. The Improvement.A.ction Plan will <br />.contain the following: <br />• Employee Name <br />• Incident'Date <br />Run Number <br />• Statement of Problem/lssue <br />• .Relation of Problem or issue to Required Performance Standards <br />• Cognitive, Psychomotor, and/or Affective Education/Training Objectives <br />• Expected Results of the Action Plan <br />• Employee Comments <br />• Employee and Supervisor Signature. <br />If that fails to produce the desired behavior changes, supervision and management will <br />take whatever actions are necessary to assure the quality of patient care provided by <br />the organization. <br />Records kept on in employees will allow a more objective measure of patient <br />Pare performance, thus enhancing the employee appraisal system. <br />Exceptional Performance <br />Care Ambulance has exceptional performances on a regular basis, it is important that <br />these exceptional performances be recognized and shared with others. To emphasize <br />the. significance of this requires that the_performances be truly exceptional and not just <br />good or above average. The recognition of these performances may come from a <br />variety of sources such as patients, coworkers, other agency staff, hospitals, and <br />citizens.. Once a performance is recognized as ekceptional any of the following may <br />take place: <br />• Wratten Commendation <br />Company Award <br />• Local media notification <br />rs <br />250-275 <br />
