The
Frank Bowerman Sanitary Landfill is permitted to accept 11,500 tons per day of solid
waste and is permitted to operate through 2053. In February 2019, the maximum
volume disposed at the landfill was 8,459 tons in a day; thus, having an additional
capacity of 3,041 tons per day (Calrecycle 2019a). Thus, the facility has permitted
capacity to accommodate the Project's solid waste disposal needs. Therefore,
consistent with the 1983 EIR and 1996 Addendum, impacts related to solid waste would
be less than significant. No new impact would occur.
Police Protection
The Santa Ana Police Department provides police services throughout the City,
including the Project area. The Police Department headquarters is located west of City
Hall (60 Civic Center Plaza), which is approximately 2.7 miles south of the Project site.
The Police Department has divided the City into policing divisions. The Project site is
located within the Northeast District, which is within the East Division and serves all
areas of the City north of First Street and East of Flower Street. Based on the Police
Department's 2016 (annual report), which is the most recent, the City's officer to
149
