These <br />wells provide 70% of the District's water <br />+ R supply; therefore, the sequence of <br />construction considers seasonal water <br />j� demands and allows for one well out of <br />service at a time. Key project elements <br />include well rehabilitation, pump <br />replacement, general electrical equipment replacement, new emergency <br />generators, construction of new chemical storage and feed systems <br />area, replacement of wellhead piping, instrumentation upgrades, and <br />site security improvements. <br />The Michael Baker team <br />participated in a constructibility <br />review of the construction <br />documents and in contractors <br />prequalification. The engineer's <br />estimate was $10.5 million, and bids <br />from contractors were received by <br />the District. <br />Relevance to the City: <br />• Constructability review <br />• CM/CI <br />• Construction Close -Out <br />Client: Mesa Water District <br />Dates: 2015-2019 <br />Contact: <br />Karyn Igar, PE <br />Senior Civil Engineer <br />Michael Baker provided design, constructability review, CM and <br />inspection services for this pumping plant replacement project <br />that includes demolition of an existing pumping plant facility and <br />appurtenances; geotechnical engineered in -situ sub -surface structural <br />soil compaction improvements; construction of a 6,400- square -foot <br />pump building that houses an 18.9 MGD pump station; erection of <br />two 2.2 MG above ground steel <br />tank reservoirs; associated yard <br />piping; and extensive system -wide <br />SCADA system upgrades.
