He is knowledgeable in both local agency and Caltrans design standards and has successfully <br />delivered projects with sensitive and significant public outreach efforts. He is a recognized expert in the <br />design of bike and pedestrian facilities, helping design and implement state of the practice solutions to <br />improve active transportation safety throughout California. <br />REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS <br />Project Role <br />MENDEZ HISTORIC TRAIL/GREEN STREET BIKEWAY, WESTMINSTER <br />Civil <br />Project manager for this historic trail and Green Street bikeway project that will <br />EDUCATION <br />reduce vehicle travel lanes and create a two-mile long Class IV bikeway along <br />BS in Civil <br />the western limits of the corridor. A raised median will be incorporated to <br />Engineering, <br />provide separation between vehicles and bicycles, and serve as a stormwater <br />California State <br />treatment for roadway runoff. Additional project improvements include <br />University, <br />pedestrian level lighting, correction of deficient driveways, ADA upgrades, <br />Sacramento <br />pavement rehab, asphalt overlay, and curb ramps. <br />REGISTRATION <br />GARDEN GROVE COMPLETE STREETS, WESTMINSTER <br />CA C75938 <br />Project manager for this ATP-funded bikeway project that will repurpose Garden <br />Grove Boulevard to include one lane in each direction, a two -way -left -turn lane, <br />and a Class IV protected bikeway with landscape median. The project also <br />provides a road diet at Edwards Street/Trask Avenue and adds buffered bike <br />lanes. The project requires a Caltrans encroachment permit and approval from <br />UPRR. Additional project improvements include pedestrian level lighting, <br />correction of deficient driveways, pavement rehabilitation, and curb ramps. <br />CENTRAL CITY MOBILITY IMPROVEMENTS, SACRAMENTO <br />Project Manager responsible for managing the preliminary engineering, design <br />concept plans, and PS&E to the City of Sacramento to implement the second <br />phase of the Central City Specific plan which includes two-way conversions on <br />5th Street and I Street to improve circulation for vehicles and bicyclists. <br />Additionally, parking protected bikeways on 9th, 10th, 19th, 21 st, P, and Q <br />Streets will create a facility for all ages and abilities. <br />WEST VILLAGE CONNECTIVITY, DAVIS <br />Project manager responsible for preparation of preliminary and final design <br />documents for several critical transportation improvement projects in the West <br />Village area of the UC Davis campus. Projects include widening the multi -use <br />path and adding lighting along the south side of Russell Boulevard, modifying <br />the bike path and extending connections from the West Village to the <br />pedestrian overcrossing at Acer Street, widening the pedestrian pathway from <br />the pedestrian overcrossing to Orchard Park Drive, constructing a traffic circle <br />at Orchard Park Circle and Orchard Park Drive and altering the existing two <br />lane vehicle roundabout at the West Village to a single lane roundabout. <br />City Council 17 — 245 2/15/2022 <br />
