materials testing and specialty inspections services during construction of the John Wayne Airport Terminal Complex Improvements
project in Orange County, California. Services included special inspection and materials testing associated with welding, reinforced
concrete, fireproofing, pull and torque -testing, epoxy anchors installation, and ground penetrating radar (GPR) testing, along with
laboratory testing for concrete compressive strength, non -shrink grout compressive strength, reinforcing steel bend and tensile
strength, and fireproofing density. The work conformed with the California Building Code, Title 24, for essential facilities and
welding is performed in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) 131.8 seismic provisions. Our field special inspection
services included continuous inspection during field and shop structural steel welding and non-destructive testing (NDT).
Big Canyon Reservoir Flow Meter Vault, Newport Beach, California: Senior Field Technician retained during construction
of the Big Canyon Reservoir Flow Metering Vault and Treatment Improvements project. The project included construction of a
new reinforced concrete flow metering vault that is embedded approximately 27 feet deep below the existing surface. The site
improvements included new utility pipelines, hardscape, and asphalt concrete pavement. Structurally, the new vault included
cast -in -place reinforced concrete foundation, walls, intermediate floor and roof. Services included observation and testing during
compacted fill, trench backfill and subgrade preparation. Field density testing was performed during fill placement to evaluate the
contractor's compaction efforts. Special inspection services included deputy inspection for concrete.
City of Yorba Linda Library and Arts Center, Yorba Linda, California: Inspector/Technician provided geotechnical and
materials testing and deputy inspection services during construction of the Yorba Linda Public Library & Arts Center project
located in Yorba Linda, California. The project consisted of construction of a of a new 2-story, 45,000 square feet (SF) public
library building and a new single -story 14,000 SF community arts center building, as well as a new parking lot and various site
improvements. The new buildings structurally consist concrete spread footings, grade beams and slab on grade, structural steel
framing including moment frames, metal stud walls, masonry walls, concrete over metal deck, and steel stairs. Other structural
improvements included a masonry trash enclosure, reinforced masonry and concrete retaining walls, and steel framed trellis.
Other site improvements include a parking lot, new utilities, a bio-detention system, light poles and concrete pavement.
Lake Forest U-Haul Storage, Lake Forest, California: Inspector/Technician retained for geotechnical, materials testing and
deputy inspection services during construction of the Lake Forest U-Haul Storage facility located in Lake Forest, California. The
project consisted of a new 3-story Building A, a single story Building B, and a new parking lot. Geotechnical observation and testing
were performed during rough grading, trench backfill and subgrade preparation. Field density testing was performed during fill
placement to evaluate the contractor's compaction efforts. Services included sampling and testing of structural concrete, including
checking slump, temperature and casting a set of concrete cylinders. Special inspection services were provided for concrete and
welding. Non-destructive examination was performed on the welds. Laboratory testing included sieve analysis, sand equivalent,
Proctor density and compressive strength testing on concrete. Testing was performed in accordance with ASTM Test Methods.
(UCI) Anteater Learning Pavilion, Irvine, California: Senior Inspector/Field Technician retained to provide geotechnical, materials
testing, and deputy inspection services for the construction of the University of California Irvine (UCI) Anteater Learning Pavilion
project in Irvine, California. The project included construction of a classroom, lecture hall, and office building of approximately
79,000 square feet. The building consists of three floors, including a service level, with a connected two -level auditorium structure.
Structurally, the new building is 3 levels of cast -in -place concrete with post -tensioned beams and slabs. Additional structural
elements include reinforced concrete foundation, masonry walls, structural steel, cast -in -place concrete columns, and retaining
walls. Additional site improvements include new underground utilities, new exterior concrete hardscapes, landscaping, and a new
accessible ramp and stairs serving the Humanities building. Earthwork for the project included overexcavation and recompaction
to remove the existing undocumented fill soils present below the new building area, as well as overexcavation and recompaction
below the new exterior hardscapes. Services included sampling and laboratory testing of onsite materials, observation and density
testing during the site grading, foundation observations, as well as various trench and structural backfill operations, reinforced
concrete and masonry inspection services, as well as load and torque testing of post -installed anchors.
